Dr Jan Pol-Harm is a Dutch veterinarian with practice in Weidman, Michigan, USA. He has over 25,000 patients in his care. Heals all farm animals and family pets and , including exotic ones. His 45 years of experience makes him a walking legend for all animal owners.
In 2011, “The Incredible Dr. Pol” debuted on Nat Geo WILD and currently airs in over 100 countries around the world, and is the #1 show on the network. In 2019, Dr. Pol teamed up with RTL4 to bring his rural American veterinary clinic into the living rooms of his home country, the Netherlands, with “In de Voetsporen van Dr. Pol.”
Dr. Pol is the author of the best-selling book, Never Turn Your Back on an Angus Cow—My Life as a Country Vet, a memoir that recounts amusing, and often poignant, tales from his illustrious and incredible 45+ year veterinary career.
Even though Dr. Pol’s practice is based in Michigan, due to the success of his television series he has managed to gain a loyal following around the world.
In December of 2019, Dr. Pol launched his first line of branded products including Dog, Cat, Horse, Chicken, Goat and Rabbit food.
Pol met his wife Diane when he arrived in Michigan from the Netherlands as an exchange student in the 1960s. The two run Pol Veterinarian Services, which of course makes her a regular presence on the show. But she opts out of the frame more often than not, and is the low-key yin to her husband’s gregarious yang. The cameras also follow their son, Charles, and vets on staff who include Dr. Emily and Dr. Brenda as they deliver puppies or perform surgeries on ailing pigs.
